Family, friends and community, here is an invitation to start off the New Year in the correct path, come join our brothers and sisters at Holy Spirit in Kennewick.

IS THERE MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS?

Would you like one night a week to relax, fill your tummy, head and your heart?
A new program that explores life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment begins on Wednesday, January 11 at Holy Spirit Church, Kennewick, in the Parish Activity Center. Alpha, (the beginning) is an interactive program that runs once a week for 11 weeks, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and incudes a meal, a short talk or video on the Christian faith, and an opportunity for small group discussion. Ages from 15-100 are welcome to attend and babysitting is provided for those younger! No matter your faith base or spiritual level, Alpha is guaranteed to enrich your life.

Do you ever wonder…
• How Can We Have Faith?
• Why and How Do I Pray?
• Does God Heal Today?
• What is the Holy Spirit?

Ask a friend to come along or simply come and join others. For more information or to sign up, contact the Parish office, 7409 W. Clearwater Avenue, or contact the program coordinators, Rob and Kristi Privette at rprivettevet@yahoo.com or at 509-438-1222. If you would like to find out more information about ALPHA, go to www.alphausa.org or simply, do a search using #‎alpha.

Come and check out the introductory dinner and session first, an then decide if you would like to register after. Be sure to RSVP for dinner preparations.

Bible Studies, Movies, ebooks, etc.

St. Joseph’s Parish has subscribed to Formed.org, the Augustine Institute website that has a myriad of Catholic materials for our access at no cost to each of us parishioners. The materials include seven featured programs such as The Bible and the Virgin Mary, a 12-lesson journey through Scripture, and From Nothing to Cosmos, a 4-episode series by Fa. (Dr.) Robert Spitzer, S.J., eighteen full length movies such as Servant of All about Archbishop Fulton Sheen, and Mother Teresa, about a holy woman who likely will be canonized later this year, twenty e- or i-books such as Because God is Real, by Dr. Peter Kreeft, and The Ear of the Heart, by Mother Dolores Hart, O.S.B., and more than 50 audio CDs which you can listen to via the website. This is a great and painless way to further your faith journey in your own home.

If, after using any of these materials, you would like to recommend them to other parishioners, please submit to the Parish office (parish.office@stjoseph-kennewick.org) a brief review of 100 words or less by Monday at noon to have it included in the next Parish Bulletin.
