What has RCIA been doing after the Elect and Candidates received their Initiation Sacraments at the Easter Vigil? After their initiation into the Catholic Church, the Neophytes (new seeds) begin the Period of Mystagogy.Mystagogy – meaning reflection on the mysteries – is a time for them to dwell on and ponder with joy and awe their experience with the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. They savor the experience of the Holy.
It is also a time for meditating on the Gospel and performing works of charity, which is how the Neophytes become integrated into the life of St. Joseph’s Catholic Community.
