TRI-CITIES WALK FOR LIFE

All are welcome to the Tri-Cities annual walk for life, the "Cross Walk", to be held on Saturday, February 18th. Participants will gather at the Lampson Stadium parking lot at 9:15am and walk to St. Joseph's School soccer field carrying small crosses. At the soccer field we will set up the crosses in memory of all the babies that have been aborted since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.
After the march there will be hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts served at the Dillon Hall.
For more information contact:  Andrew Kopriva 509.396.0876

“How precious the gift of the cross, how splendid to contemplate! In the cross there is no mingling of good and evil, as in the tree of paradise: it is wholly beautiful to behold and good to taste. The fruit of this tree is not death but life, not darkness but light.” – St. Theodore Studite

MESSAGE FROM MATTHEW
Life is precious and beautiful. And when I think about all the unnecessary death in the world-near and far-my heart aches. Each new child makes me want to live a better life. I hope I can turn that aspiration into real action. I know I will need God's grace to do it. And I know I will need to break through resistance.

Brothers and Sisters:
How do we pray in the face of hurts and resentments? How do we assist our people to pray in times of trial and darkness? How do we pray with the uncertainty and fear we see in the lives of those we serve?
Prayer is an "attitude" – as noted in both the Catechism of the Catholic Church as well as the General Directory for Catechesis – then we might want to check our interior attitude especially our reactions to the persecutions and struggles that come our way.
The famous poet, William Blake, invited this kind of rigor interior examination of conscience when he penned these lines:
