Peter’s Pence Collection June 23-24
June 8, 2012
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
In many places around the globe, the Church struggles to be a visible sign of Christ’s peace: in poor dioceses where many depend on the Church for social and pastoral support; in regions where Catholics are persecuted and must be helped discreetly; in nations overloaded with refugees or victims of war and natural disasters. The Peter’s Pence Collection often provides peace they might not otherwise know. What peace will you give with your stewardship today?
The Peter’s Pence Collection June 23-24 gives us the opportunity to extend a sign of peace to the body of Christ around the world. Our gifts to this annual Collection help the Holy Father support victims of disaster, war, and oppression and others in urgent need of assistance. Pope Benedict uses the Peter’s Pence Collection to strengthen dioceses, religious orders, and struggling communities of faith when they need it most.
For many who must struggle to survive, the peace of Christ is encountered through the Collection and the work of the Holy Father. Please give generously to the Collection and know that, in doing so, you truly cast the peace of Christ upon the world.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Joseph Tyson,
Bishop of Yakima

“Courageous”
FREE Family Sunday Movie In English
February 26, at 2:30PM in Dillon Hall
(refreshments available for sale)
Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.
When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God ... and to their children?
Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That’s courageous.
